How do you have permission to dig in my yard?We have obtained permits to use the city’s public right-of-ways.
-
What is a right-of-way?Every city owns a portion of your property in order for them to easily access city utilities. A right-of-way is described as the right to pass over or through property owned by someone else, usually based upon an easement. There may be a specific path that must be taken, or the right may be more general. The city has allowed us to use these rights-of-way in order to build our fiber network in your community.

What is this new white box in my yard? The “white box” you are referring to is a vault. This vault holds fiber optic cable that is used to power homes in your neighborhood with super-fast Internet! All vaults should be installed level with the ground and can be driven over with a mower. Once our construction project is complete, access to the vault by Stealth technicians will be infrequent. If you have any questions or concerns about the vault, or the condition of your yard, please contact us at 402-347-1010. Photo of a Vault

What is this new green box in my yard? The “green box” you are referring to is a fiber optic pedestal. This pedestal holds fiber optic cable that is used to power homes in your neighborhood with super-fast Internet! We try to locate pedestals in an area that will not impede access to your yard. As new customers sign up for service, Stealth technicians will access the pedestal to connect the customers to the fiber optic network. If you have any questions or concerns about the pedestal, or the condition of your yard, please contact us at 402-347-1010. Photo of a Fiber Optic Pedestal

What are the wood stakes doing in my yard?Wood stakes with markings on them are installed by Stealth engineers to tell our contractors where to place vaults and pedestals. It is very important to leave these stakes in place until construction is complete. Once construction is complete, our contractors will remove the stakes. If you have a question or concern regarding the placement of stakes, please contact us at 402-347-1010.

What are your flags doing in my yard? These flags are placed on your property in order to tell the construction crew where they can bury our fiber optic. Other companies have to mark their utility placements in order for us to avoid disturbing their underground utilities. Please see below to find out what the flag colors mean. It is very important to leave these flags in place until construction is complete. Once construction is complete, our contractors will remove the flags. Red: Electric Power Lines, Cables, Conduit, and Lighting Cables. Yellow: Gas, Steam, Petroleum or Gaseous Materials Orange: Telecommunications, Cable TV, Signal Lines, Cables or Conduit. Blue: Water Green: Sewers and Drain Lines Pink: Temporary Survey Markings White: Proposed Excavation
